Steel making by melting various grades of good quality scrap, hot briquetted iron, iron ore and pig iron and refining the same in electric ar furnace is adopted in SAIL-SCL. The company has three electric arc furnaces of 10/12T capacity each and a twin-strand continuous casting machine designed by Concast-AG, Zurich.
Besides these, the company have various auxiliary equipments like 25/5T EOT Cranes, Water Treatment Plant, 110/11KV substation, full-fledged metallurgical laboratory, etc.

Product Mix

Billets : Various grades of steel billets of size 100 x 100mm RCS is manufactured by the Company. These billets conform to the BIS standard codes IS 2830:1992, IS 2831:200 SAIL-SCL markets a wide range of TMT constructional steel strictly conforming to BIS standards IS 1786/1985. Manufacture of TMT is done in association with SAIL, a Maharatna PSU. Recenlty, Fe500 grade TMT bearing the name 'SAIL-SCL TMT 500' has been launched in the following sizes:
